As you work on the OLL course, you will be developing your awareness of possible future research topics. We expect that an option course choice will give you some ideas about dissertation areas; the progression would often be that you use concepts, theories and issues from core course topics and develop these with a focus on the option course topic, and then your option course topic concepts, theories and issues will be used to develop the focus of your dissertation.
